I am a parent of a child in the United States where my child wants so badly to go over to Niger to help. It makes me so proud. Lydia wants to make a difference and I couldn’t be more proud of that. I think she wants so much for other children to be in a relationship with Jesus and for them to grow and to ultimately be happy. “I want them to be happy mom.” Why? I asked. She told me, “Well do you like to be sad? I don’t want to see them sad.” I then teared up. All I want is for my child to be happy. Why wouldn’t I want that for the children in Niger. Education is so important where ever we are, here in the US or in Niger.
Education opens so many doors for opportunities to learn and help provide for our families, but it also gives us as a person self-worth. What pride we take after completing something to help someone. I love children and I love helping them learn. As a teacher, I can’t help but get excited when they get something we are teaching them for the first time. Children are my life. I am blessed and honored to give in so many ways.
