A Note from Kara

So far everything is going really well.  I’m so happy to see my friends and colleagues in Niger again and to spend time with the children at the schools.  Today we spent the day at the boarding school.  It was so much fun!  The children couldn’t have been more happy when I pulled out soccer balls that the kids at Sunrise Ministries sent with me.  They played soccer for a long time!  We also did several art projects with the children and they wrote letters to their sponsors and kids in the United States.

This evening, the President of the denomination had us over for dinner.  His wife is an excellent cook. We started the meal with a salad with homemade dressing.  Then we had meatballs in a red sauce over couscous.  Mmmmmmm…it was delicious.  I’ve tried to make the salad dressing at home before, but it never tastes as good.

The weather has been beautiful!  Sunny, blue skies with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. I’m trying to soak it up before I return to Michigan and North Carolina.

Oh my goodness! You got to have the salade garnie! I am jealous. We had a warmup here in MN too – it was in the 30’s! 🙂
