The relationship and communication between Footprints Academy in Woodbury, MN, and the Tsibiri Boarding School continues. The older students wrote penpal letters and many of the younger students traded art projects. This is a rare opportunity for the students in Niger. Because mail is not allowed to go to the United States from Niger, it’s a difficult activity without someone who can take the letters and art projects back and forth. At this point, the Internet is not an option either, since there isn’t a connection at the school in Tsibiri.
The kids at Footprints collected school supplies that are difficult to find in Niger and sent those along as well. The Tsibiri director, teachers and students send their “thanks” to the Footprint students and Maggie Greene, the coordinator who has worked very hard to make this happen year after year!
