The Remember Niger Health and Wellness Program provides basic health screenings in two of our partner schools, Niamey School for the Deaf and School of Hope. Our vision for the program is to expand screening to each partner school in order to identify children who are sick or suffering from malnutrition or other acute illness. We will use the data to implement health programs, such as Train Midwives Save Lives, a Remember Niger project in the Agadez region that focuses on women’s and girls’ empowerment by working with village midwives and local schools to improve overall health of the community. Our Health and Wellness Program provides daily nutritious meals to students who often would not receive a meal at home. The program also addresses the needs of those students who are ill or injured. providing funds to treat students with acute medical needs and medical kits and training to the schools to enable minor problems to be treated on-site.
